What is Hanker?
Hanker is a premium dating platform that connects successful, generous individuals with ambitious, charming partners. We're built around honesty and privacy — members are upfront about what they want, and we're built to protect your freedom to connect without surveillance or forced verification.
Who is Hanker for?
Hanker is for adults (18+) who are interested in relationships with a mutual-benefit dynamic. This includes established professionals, entrepreneurs, and anyone who values transparent, honest connections.
Is Hanker free?
Signing up and browsing profiles is completely free. As you engage with the community your Trust Score grows, unlocking features like sending likes and messages over time. If you want instant access to everything, you can optionally subscribe to Premium or verify your phone number and ID.
What is the Trust Score?
The Trust Score is our alternative to forced verification. Instead of demanding ID from everyone upfront, we let you earn access to features by being an active, genuine member of the community. The more you engage — completing your profile, interacting respectfully, and so on — the higher your Trust Score and the more features you unlock.
Do I have to verify my identity?
No. Verification is entirely optional. You can use Hanker and unlock features gradually through your Trust Score without ever submitting an ID. If you'd like faster access to all features, you can optionally verify both your phone number and ID — or subscribe to Premium. Either option also earns you a visible badge on your profile listing.
What does the Premium badge or Verified badge mean on profiles?
Members who hold an active Premium subscription display a Premium badge on their profile. Members who have verified both their phone number and government ID display a Verified badge. These badges signal to others that the member has taken an extra step — either financially committing to the platform or confirming their real identity.
Is my data private?
Yes. We never sell your personal data to third parties. Your photos and messages are stored securely and are only visible to you and the people you connect with. Critically, Hanker is not a US-based organisation and our data is hosted outside the United States — meaning we are not subject to US government data-access laws such as FISA or the CLOUD Act. Are you subject to US laws?
No. Hanker is not incorporated in the United States and our servers are hosted outside the US. We are not bound by US law, including surveillance frameworks like FISA, the CLOUD Act, or any US government subpoena process. We built the platform this way intentionally — to protect our community from government overreach.
Why did you build Hanker?
We built Hanker for the community — not for profit. We believe people deserve a dating space that respects their privacy, doesn't gate-keep features behind invasive ID checks, and operates free from government pressure. We're not VC-backed and we have no agenda beyond building something genuinely useful.
Is there an iPhone app?
Hanker is available as a Progressive Web App (PWA) for iPhone and iPad. You can install it directly from Safari — no App Store required. Visit our Install guide for step-by-step instructions.
Is there an Android app?
Yes! You can download the Hanker APK directly from this website. You can also use the web app in any mobile browser.
How do I report someone?
You can report any profile or conversation directly from within the app. Our moderation team reviews every report promptly. We take the safety of our community very seriously.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account at any time from the Settings page inside the app. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, photos, and messages.
